Saint Mars– the UK alt-rock powerhouse– has been taking the indie music scene by storm ever since their explosive 2017 debut with the critically acclaimed “Ocean Blues” EP. The band is the brainchild of highly revered singer/keyboardist Marc Darcange and featuring talented musicians such as Angelo Bruschini (guitars – Massive Attack ; Blue Aeroplanes) and Jason X (bass, keyboards, vocals – Transposer).
Shortly after the band’s inception, Saint Mars began work on a highly ambitious concept album that focuses on the true story of a 13 year-old boy’s tragic experience as a result of sustained bullying. When searching for a singer that could add authenticity to their newly released Single “Somewhere Somebody” Marc Darcange specifically chose to work with 13-year old Tryzdin Grubbs. After the band began working with Tryzdin, Marc was surprised to learn that the young singer himself was also a victim of intense bullying– adding even more emotional depth to the track.
The “Somewhere Somebody” EP showcases unique instrumentation, powerful arrangements, and stellar songwriting that are undeniably alluring and captivating. These remarkable qualities are precisely why Saint Mars has become a hot band to cover in numerous recognizable publications on the net. Initial impressions of the EP prove that this band certainly shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Listening to the acoustic version of previosu hit “Ocean Blues” was truly an engaging and worthwhile experience. Often, when artists release multiple versions of a Single, it serves no other purpose than to extend the longevity of the original. In this case, it adds a remarkably intimate quality to the original track, which makes it feel like an entirely new experience. Furthermore, it allows you to better connect to the lyrics with the minimized musical distraction. Both Singles are refreshing and differ from most pop releases in that they are infused with undeniable integrity, honesty, and emotional awareness. Both versions are polished and brilliantly paced, leaving the listener wanting more. This band has a remarkable ability to craft infectious pop hooks and melodies, with a unique blending of genres and evident care for messaging and content.
We rate this release a MUST LISTEN!
